Training Programs and Rates
Program I – One-on-one Fitness Training
This program is for non-competitive clients who are in the initial stages of getting in shape to lose weight and improve overall conditioning, but want the guidance and support of an experienced Personal Fitness Trainer. The package and rates for Program I include:

Structure of Program I
- Telephone interview and consultation
- Goal setting and appointment scheduling
- Circuit training format that includes firming and toning legs, arms, core abdominal area, stretching and flexibility drills, nutrition consultation
- 60 minutes of one-on-one training
Method of Payment and appointment scheduling for Program I
Payment procedure is only through a check mailed to Samuel, or bank draft. Samuel will not accept cash in person or by mail, and payment must be received before training can start. Due to the high volume of clients Samuel trains, he is not able to schedule make-up workouts for clients who miss training sessions.
Program II – Personal Training and Running for Beginners
This program is for people who exercise regularly, but also want to incorporate a running component to train for running events. Structure of Program II
- Workout sessions two times per week for 65 minutes
- Complete analysis of running form
- Coached running workouts to improve speed and endurance
- Circuit training workouts
- Weekly training schedule e-mailed every Sunday
- Scheduling your first race
Method of payment and appointment scheduling for Program II
Since training for running events is a year round activity, clients in Program II may need 3 months to a year to train for distances ranging from 5k (3.1 miles) to the marathon distance. Payment is $200 on a month-to-month basis, with a minimum three months commitment. Monthly payment is accepted by mail or bank draft, and no cash payments are allowed. Payment is due by the first of each month. Due to the high volume of clients Samuel trains, he is not able to schedule make-up workouts for clients who miss training sessions.
Program III – Personal Training for Experienced Athletes
This program is for experienced athletes who want to go to the next level in training and competition with guidance from an experienced coach. This includes runners training for races from 5k to the marathon, tri-athletes who want to improve the running component of their training, track athletes, and any athlete who wants to improve speed and endurance for their prospective sport.
Structure of Program III
- Scheduled speed work on the track with Samuel
- Analysis of running form and pacing
- Scheduled tempo training and hill training with Samuel
- Group training sessions with athletes of similar fitness ability
- Boot Camp/Circuit training with Samuel
- Setting goal times and pacing strategies for running events
- Workout sessions two times per week for 75 minutes each session
- Weekly training schedules e-mailed every Sunday

Payment is $275 on a month-to-month basis, with a minimum three months commitment. Monthly payments are accepted through check or bank draft, and no cash payments are allowed. Other Information You Should Know
Base Training Location
The training base for My Marathon Fitness is Kezar stadium in San Francisco. While most training will occur at Kezar, scheduled sessions will also be at different locations in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park. Morning and evening sessions are available Monday through Friday, and Saturday morning. For clients desiring a trail running experience, Samuel will schedule free Sunday morning group runs on the trails of Mt. Tamalpais in Marin County, California.
Home Based Training
If you want one-on-one personal training at your home, Samuel is available to train with you, and will bring equipment that is appropriate for your workout needs. This includes training inside your home, plus any outdoor area near your home that you prefer. Rates depend on location in the San Francisco Bay Area, program type, and time commitment
Weekly Training Schedule
If, after you have accomplished your goals and want to train on your own with the help of a weekly training schedule, Samuel can construct one specifically for your training and competitive needs. You will receive four schedules per month at $25.00 each or $100.00 per month. This service applies to clients in Programs I and II, but you must first complete the minimum of three months training with Samuel.
Personal Pacing Partner
If you’re a runner who has a time goal for your first race, or you want to achieve a personal best time, Samuel is available to be your Personal Pacing Partner. This special service includes constructing a pacing strategy for race distances ranging from 5k to the marathon, doing important warm-up drills before the race, and running the entire distance with you until you get to the finish line. Rates vary depending on race distance and travel costs.
