Training Programs and Rates
Program I – Get in Shape
This program is designed for the non-competitive client who wants to get in shape, lose weight, or improve overall body fitness. Emphasis is on fun boot camp training workouts created by Samuel for one-on-one personal training or group training. Rates and the number of sessions include the following:
One-on-One Training
- Two sessions per week
- Sixty minutes per session
- Eight sessions per month
- Monthly rate of $480
Group Training (for 3 or more people)
- Three sessions per week
- Sixty minutes per session
- Twelve sessions per month
- Monthly rate of $392 per person for group training plan
Getting Started
- Complete Harvell Fitness Training application
- Telephone interview and consultation
- Goal setting and scheduling workout sessions
- Payment by check or bank draft due by the first of each month
Program II – Train for Competition
This program is a running-specific program for runners from beginner to advanced levels who want to train for races from 5k (3.1 miles) to the marathon (26.2 miles). Emphasis is on improving leg speed and endurance in a group training structure.
Group Training (for 3 or more people)
- One coaching session per week
- Sixty minutes per session
- Four sessions per month
- Monthly rate of $200 per person for group training plan

- Assessment and recommendation for improving running form
- Techniques in speed training and improving leg strength
- Goal setting for desired race distances
- Recommendations for “cross-training” workouts

Other Information You Should Know
Base Training Location
The training base for My Marathon Fitness is Kezar stadium in San Francisco. While most training will occur at Kezar, scheduled sessions will also be at different locations in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park. Morning and evening sessions are available Monday through Friday, and Saturday morning. For clients desiring a trail running experience, Samuel will schedule free Sunday morning group runs on the trails of Mt. Tamalpais in Marin County, California.
Home Based Training
If you want one-on-one personal training at your home, Samuel is available to train with you, and will bring equipment that is appropriate for your workout needs. This includes training inside your home, plus any outdoor area near your home that you prefer. Rates depend on location in the San Francisco Bay Area, program type, and time commitment
Weekly Training Schedule
If, after you have accomplished your goals and want to train on your own with the help of a weekly training schedule, Samuel can construct one specifically for your training and competitive needs. You will receive four schedules per month at $25.00 each or $100.00 per month. This service applies to clients in Programs I and II, but you must first complete the minimum of three months training with Samuel.
Personal Pacing Partner
If you’re a runner who has a time goal for your first race, or you want to achieve a personal best time, Samuel is available to be your Personal Pacing Partner. This special service includes constructing a pacing strategy for race distances ranging from 5k to the marathon, doing important warm-up drills before the race, and running the entire distance with you until you get to the finish line. Rates vary depending on race distance and travel costs.
